Measurement and Evaluation System

Since our two weeks of teaching in SMANSA is their first meeting for the semester, we do not get to witness exams.

I, personally, did not witness a pen and paper test being conducted. After the lesson, my cooperating teacher will assess student's learning through an oral recitation.

During our orientation, we asked Pa Kuswara on how they assess student's learning, and he showed us this:

" Assessment in Curriculum 2013

Minimum Completeness Criteria

Curriculum 2013 is a competency-based curriculum with Basic Competency (BC) as a minimum competency that must be achieved by students. To find out the achievement of BC, the teacher must formulate a number of indicators as a reference for assessment and the school must also determine minimal learning completeness or minimum completeness criteria to decide whether a student has completed or not. The minimum criteria describes the quality of the school, therefore the minimum criteria every year needs to be evaluated and it is expected that gradually there will be an increase in the criteria.

Minimum completeness criteria (MCC) is determined by the education unit referring to the Graduates' Competency Standards taking into account the characteristics of the students, the characteristics of the subjects, and the conditions of the education unit. MCC is formulated at least by taking into account 3 (three) aspects, namely material / competency complexity, intake (quality of students), and teachers and carrying capacity of educational units.

The score of completeness of the competency aspects of knowledge and skills is expressed in the form of numbers and letters, namely 0-100 for numbers, while the description of achievement of competencies is written with letters A to D. In the school year 2018/2019 SMAN 1 Majalengka sets the minimum Learning Completion Criteria for Aspects of knowledge are determined with an average score of 75 and for skills aspects are determined with optimum achievement at a score of 75.

In order to improve and / or guarantee education quality, the school has to sets criteria for minimum completeness, criteria for class upgrading, and graduation criteria from the school. All of these criteria must be stated in the document school curriculum." - (This is the exact file sent by Pa Kuswara)
