CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT
Teaching Practice: Features

Most of the time, I like employing collaborative learning in my lesson. This time, collaborative learning served double purposes on my lesson. First, I encourage team play, second, I need to maximize the time because we only have 1 hour and 30 minutes. So, even though the topic is about writing, I grouped my students and let them work in groups. Here is a video of my students during collaborative learning.

During my pre-service teaching in SMANSA, the topics I taught were past tense and recount text.
In teaching past tense, I used inductive method. I showed them animated photos of people doing action and I asked the students to make a sentence out of the photos. After that, I showed them how to transform the sentences into past tense. And then we proceeded with the concept.

On the other hand, when I was teaching recount text, what I did was tap on their personal experiences and let them share those experiences to me. We simply talked about their embarassing experiences and unforgettable experiences. And after sharing, I told them it is one form of recount text, and we proceeded with the concept and the technicalities of recount text.

My over all experience of teaching in SMANSA is priceless. I get to experience teaching students with a completely different culture, I was exposed to diverse classroom environments, was able to witness different learning styles, and learned more teaching methods and strategies.
