Teaching System and Teaching Methods used by the Teachers Observed

The class starts at 7:00 am and ends at 3:30 pm from Monday to Thursday. Every Friday, the class ends at 2:20 pm to give time to their extra curricular activities.

Class schedule.

When it comes to the system of teaching, just like most schools, it depends on the teacher on how he/she wants to execute the topic. I have observed two teachers, my cooperating teacher, Pa Hendra Sujana, an English teacher, and Pa Aan Suciarahmat, a physics teacher.

Pa Hendra and Pa Aan differs in their way of teaching. Pa Hendra uses the lecture method. I think this is because, in Indonesia, English is still a foreign language, therefore, not all students can understand english. So, to execute the lesson in a way most students will understand, he uses the lecture method.

Pa Hendra teaching Simple Past Tense to grade 10 students.

On the other hand, Pa Aan uses the deductive method. He starts with the concept and then give examples or sometimes let the students give their own example.

Pa Aan teaching electromagnetic waves to grade 12 students.
